1. Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply to parachutesbtc.com, its pages, tools, dashboards, data routes and downloads, and the BTCalendar service at cal.parachutesbtc.com (together, "the site"). "parachutesBTC", "we" and "us" mean the operator of the site. "You" means anyone who visits or uses it.
By using the site you agree to these terms, to the Disclaimer and to the Privacy notice, which are part of these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. Education only
The site is free general education about Bitcoin. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, it is not personalised to you, and it does not create a professional or fiduciary relationship. The Disclaimer explains this in full.
3. Using the site
You may read, use and share the site for any lawful purpose. Please do not:
- use the site to break the law, defraud anyone or harm anyone;
- try to break into, disrupt, overload or probe the site, its servers or its data routes, or get around any limit or security measure;
- send automated requests at a volume that slows the site for others (search engines and reasonable automated reading are welcome);
- present yourself as parachutesBTC, or suggest that parachutesBTC endorses you, your product or your service when it does not;
- copy the site in a way that the section on content below does not allow.
We may block access that breaks these rules.
4. Tools, data and live feeds
Tools and dashboards give estimates and run mostly in your browser. Their results depend on what you enter and on third-party data that can be late, wrong or unavailable. You are responsible for checking any result before you rely on it. Never enter a seed phrase, private key, passphrase or wallet password into any website. This site will never ask for one.
The BTCalendar feed and the site's data routes are provided free and may change, slow down or stop at any time.
5. Other people's sites and content
The site links to, quotes and embeds content and services run by others, including data providers, video platforms, X and atblockheight.com. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. We do not control them and are not responsible for them. A link or embed is not an endorsement. Some links are labelled referral links; see the Disclaimer.
6. Content and credit
Unless a page says otherwise, the text, graphics, videos, code and design of the site are © parachutesBTC. You may:
- link to any page;
- quote short excerpts for commentary, teaching or review, with credit to @parachutesBTC and a link to the page;
- share screenshots of a page or chart with credit and a link;
- print or save pages for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Please ask before republishing whole pages, lessons or datasets, or before using the site's content in a product you sell.
Material from others, including quotes, historical documents, data, images, embedded videos, posts and third-party tools, belongs to its owners. It is credited where it appears and is used with permission, under its licence, or as fair use for education and commentary. Names and logos of companies and products belong to their owners and are used only to identify them. No one owns the word "Bitcoin".
7. Copyright concerns
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with: the work you own, where it appears on the site (the page address), how to reach you, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised. We will review it promptly and remove or correct material where appropriate.
8. Suggestions and corrections
If you send a suggestion, correction or idea, we may use it to improve the site without owing you anything for it. We will credit you if you ask and it is practical.
9. Support payments
Support sent through the support page is a voluntary gift. You receive nothing in return: no goods, services, access, membership, ownership, interest or return of any kind. Gifts are not tax-deductible charitable donations and cannot be refunded, because bitcoin payments cannot be reversed. Gifts do not influence what the site publishes.
10. Changes to the site
We may change, pause or remove any part of the site, including tools, data and the calendar feed, at any time and without notice.
11. No warranties
THE SITE AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS OR HARMFUL CODE, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS:
- PARACHUTESBTC AND ANYONE INVOLVED IN RUNNING THE SITE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, INVESTMENT OR TRADING LOSSES, LOST OR STOLEN BITCOIN, LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF WARNED THAT SUCH LOSS WAS POSSIBLE; AND
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100).
Some places do not allow certain warranties, damages or liabilities to be excluded or limited. Where that is the case, these limits apply only as far as the law allows. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Your responsibility to us
If you misuse the site or break these terms, and a claim is made against parachutesBTC because of it, you agree to cover the reasonable losses and costs, including legal fees, that result, to the extent the law allows.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which the operator of the site is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing any claim, you agree to contact us first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Any claim related to the site must be brought within one year after it arose, where the law allows such a limit.
15. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed only as far as needed, and the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a term right away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, with the Disclaimer and Privacy notice, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms, for example to a successor operator of the site.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date, and it applies from that date. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the updated terms.
